Better Late Than Never?

To say that I am enamored with Miu Miu's Spring/Summer 2010 offering is perhaps the understatement of the year. I've been a long champion of Miuccia Prada's more energetic, younger line for quite some time, and I must say that her efforts this season have left me as satisfied with my own tastes as a cat full of cream. Where to begin? How can I add any interest to the volumes of complimentary reviews cast by those infinitely more read and more influential than myself? The truth is that I cannot, for in a world where I don't even fall into the correct economic bracket to own any of the pieces, what does my opinion matter? To hell with it though, for keeping my enthusiasm on this brash new set of printed deliciousness in the closet, as it were, would leave me a fashion writing criminal of the basest form. Seeking inspiration, seemingly, from the flirtatiously risque menswear inspired silhouettes of the seventies coupled with some of the most inspired and fresh prints and cuts has resulted in a (thankfully!) wide reaching trickle down effect of imitators. I, not being one to scorn Topshop and H & M, am grateful for the sly and not so subtle influenced pieces which are slightly more attainable for the mere mortal. I'd like to own the shoes, at least. Any of them. To Miu Miu, with love. xoxo Sarah
