Just finished re-watching Ken Russell's 1971 film The Devils, which is seriously one of the crazier films ever, especially considering the fact that Vanessa Redgrave plays a demented, sexually obsessed, Reverend Mother nun with a hump???!!! Yeah. Good stuff. Insane soundtrack, incredible shots. Lots of risks taken and some totally ridiculous failures but all in all a super awesome movie. It's actually based on the true events of a small city call Loudoun which had politically orchestrated witch trials. It's a pretty intense film, with obscenity, violence, and sex. Good times. I was watching it and got really inspired to make some faux 17th century French clothing. Here's some stills.
